Arizona State Sun Devils vs Illinois Fighting Illini Preview

Arizona State: The Arizona State Sun Devils are back on a hot start starting out 2-0. Last week ASU defeated the Missouri Tigers last week in overtime after blowing a 14pt lead in the 4th quarter now they have got to turn there attention to this weeks game vs Illinois. This is gonna be a hard week for the Sun Devils they are gonna be going up against a defense who last year led the Big Ten in rushing last season but that was with Mikel LeShore. This year they are going with Jason Ford who is starting off on a slow start but what they really need to worry about is Illinois passing game lead by Nathan Scheelhaase, Nathan has been very accurate the past 2 weeks  completing 71% of his passes for 369 yards. What needs to go right for ASU to start the season at 3-0 they need to have a big game on defense from there corners since All Pac 12 corner Omar Bolden on the shelf they are gonna need a great game from Deveron Carr and Osahon Irabor and also from linebacker Vontaze Burfict who has been doing great so far this season. If all this works #22 Arizona State can move up in the rankings and start at 3-0

Illinois: Just like ASU Illinois is on a nice 2 game win streak to start out the 2011 campaign last week they defeated and shut down South Dakota State 56-3. Illinois is going to be facing #22 Arizona State Sun Devils this week. There are many things that need to go well for the Fighting Illini and that is that they have to stick with there passing game under quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase with ASU's cornerback core still having those ups and downs on plays I can really see them throwing the ball constantly vs ASU.

Runningback Mike Tolbert #35 Of The San Diego Chargers Hurdles
1st Quarter: The 1st quarter of the game kicked off on bad note for the San Diego Chargers they gave up a 103 yard kickoff return to Percy Harvin and along with that the Chargers lost there kicker Nate Kaeding for the rest of the game and possibly for the rest of the season. Later on in the quarter linebacker Shaun Philips picked off Donovan Mcnabb putting the Chargers in position for Philip Rivers throw a passing touchdown to Mike Tolbert to tie the score 7-7.

2nd Quarter: The 2nd quarter was all Minnesota, San Diego did not have the greatest 2nd quarter there were just so many problems going on for San Diego one of the key problems was the kicking situation the Chargers had to convert on 4th down twice in the game and one of the 4th down attempts in 2nd quarter where San Diego did not convert on 4th turning it over to the Vikings, Rivers went to the sideline yelling at coach Turner saying "I need a Kicker" after this the Vikings got a field goal by Ryan Longwell and a touchdown from Mcnabb to Micheal Jenkins making the score Minnesota 17, San Diego 7 at the half.

4th Quarter: The 4th quarter really took a toll on the Minnesota Vikings, San Diego finally got there things together and got a drive going in the beginning of the quarter. Philip Rivers got close enough so that Matt Scifres could kick his 1st ever field goal in his career filling in for the injured Kaeding. After a couple of back and forth drives San Diego ended up with the ball with about 8:00 mins left on the clock Rivers again drive the Chargers down field and with the clocked drained to 5 mins left in the game Rivers connects to Mike Tolbert once again for the game winning touchdown and pick up the victory 24-17 over the Vikings.

Ian Kennedy Picks Up 19th Win of the Season

Last Night's Arizona Diamondbacks vs San Diego Padres game marked Ian Kennedy's 19th win of the season pitching a terrific 7.2 innings and striking out 11 batters in the process the only thing that is held him down from having a even greater game was the 7 hits he gave up 1 of them being a earned run. Some speculate that Ian Kennedy should be in talks as the NL Cy Young winner and i couldn't agree more this has been such a great year for Ian and with the Dbacks most likely heading into the post season lets see how well he produces in the big games.

Arizona State vs Missouri Preview

It is BLACK OUT at Sun Devil Stadium as the Sun Devils will be taking on the #21 ranked team in the country Missouri Tigers.

The Arizona State Sun Devils last Thursday vs UC Davis had a great game on both sides of the ball offensively Brock Osweiler threw for 262 yards, 2 touchdowns and was picked off once vs UC Davis, during the game vs UC Davis Brock was suffering craps in his right calf and his status for Thursday game is probable but will most likely play.On the defensive side of the ball Arizona State's linebacker Vontaze Burfict exploded vs UC Davis sacking quarterback Randy Wright 3 times last week in ASU's victory vs UC Davis 42-14. What needs to go right for ASU entering Thursday's game vs Mizz is that they are gonna have to work without some key offensive players and some key defensive players such as Omar Bolden (CB), Brandon Magee (LB), T.J Simpson (WR) and Deantre Lewis (RB) if the Devils can play like they did last week without these stars ASU could shock Missouri tommorow.

The Missouri Tigers have also kicked off there 2011 campaign with a bang they deafting Miami (Ohio) 17-6 quarterback James Franklin had a decent outing vs Miami Ohio passing for 129 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception. Transferring into this upcoming game vs ASU, what Missouri needs to do is that they need there offensive line to watch for linebacker Vontaze Burfict he as great linebacker speed if the o-line for the Tigers can some how shut down Burfict and the rest of the defense and played like they played last week the Mizz can disappoint ASU's black jersey debut

Dbacks look for a 8 Game lead vs Rockies

The Arizona Diamondbacks have taken a commanding lead in there division after taking 2 out of 3 vs the San Francisco Giants. The Giants are gonna have to step there game up in the last 3 1/2 weeks left in the season to try and get a playoff spot but with the Diamondbacks up 7 games it is gonna be hard for the Giants to bounce back.

The Diamondbacks will continue there road series vs the Colorado Rockies tonight as Wade Miley will be going up against Esmil Rogers. Wiley has not had the greatest of starts since being called up from Triple-A Reno.In tonights matchup vs the Rockies the Dbacks are gonna have to look for a strong game from Wade Miley, Miley has won his last 2 games vs Colorado and Washington after starting off 0-1 in a hard major league debut vs the Atlanta Braves. If Miley can get run support early by the Dbacks bats you can see the Dbacks up 8 games over the defending World Series Champions San Francisco Giants in the division.
